Pre-Stain Conditioner for Exterior Wood

Clear Tannin Guard is a water clear penetrating pre-stain conditioner for exterior wood. It prevents discoloration of the finish by neutralizing wood extractives without painting and covering the grain. It is ideal for use with Flood's E-B® Fortified Semi-Transparent and Solid Color Stains on red cedar and redwood. Clear Tannin Guard promotes optimum stain coverage and penetration to highlight the natural characteristics and beauty of wood.

Where To Use
• For all new and weathered wood, vertical and horizontal
• For use on siding, shingles, shakes, fences, decks and docks

Preparation
• Wear eye and skin protection.
• Wet down or cover plants, shrubs or adjacent areas that you do not wish to coat.
• If necessary, Remove mildew with a mixture of 1 part bleach and 3 parts water. Allow solution to remain on surface for 10-15 minutes, then rise thoroughly.
• Surface must be clean and free of contamination.
• Prep previously stained and weathered wood with Dekswood. Let dry.
• Seal knots with shellac to prevent sap residue.

Application
• Can be applied with a garden sprayer, nylon or polyester brush, roller or airless sprayer at .011-.015 fluid tip and 700-800 psi (use lowest pressure to achieve a full, wet spray without atomization.
• Clear Tannin Guard can be applied to new shakes and shingles by dipping prior to installation. Dip to cover entire surface and allow excess to drip off.
• Use product as is for optimum performance.
• Shake or stir thoroughly.
• Apply one coat saturating surfaces uniformly.

Clean Up
• Use soap and water.
