Penetrating oil and acrylic stain in one
Flood Solid Color Deck & Siding Stain is a premium finish for new work and a problem-solver for recoating old applications. Its unique blend of oil and 100% acrylic latex provides a durable color coat. You get the best of both paints – the deep penetration and strong adhesion of oil and the flexibility, breathability and excellent color retention of latex. This product is guaranteed not to peel for 5 years on decks and 15 years on siding.
Available In• 9 traditional colors (Traditional Cape Cod Gray, Traditional Oxford Brown, Traditional Stone Hedge, Traditional Coffee, Traditional Cedar, Traditional Chocolate, Traditional Russet, Traditional Mahogany, Traditional Navajo Red) and 42 custom colors.
Where to Use• New or weathered exterior wood; do not use indoors• Previously stained exterior surfaces• Siding (solid wood and plywood, including T1-11)• Decks, docks and other horizontal surfaces• Fences and other vertical surfaces• Trim boards, outdoor wood furniture• Weathered vertical masonry
Preparation• Surfaces to be coated should be clean and dry before applying Flood Solid Stain. • Sand, scrape or wire brush loose, flaking or peeling finish.• Pressure wash to remove excess dirt and other contamination.• Remove mildew with a mixture of 1 part chlorine bleach and 4 parts water. (Rinse thoroughly and allow to dry).• Allow 2-3 days dry time after cleaning before application.• Cover everything you do not wish to coat, including plants and shrubs.
Application• Apply between 50°F and 80°F. Do not apply in hot sunlight.• Do not apply if cold, wet weather is expected within 48 hours.• Use as is; do not thin.• Mix thoroughly before and periodically during application.• Apply with nylon or polyester brush, roller, stain brush/pad or airless spray.• If an additional coat is required, it may be applied after 3-4 hours.• When spraying, always backbrush or backroll material.
Dry Time• To recoat: 3-4 hours• To use a deck surface: 24-48 hours• Maximum cure and dry time may be prolonged when highly humid or damp, cool conditions prevail.
Clean Up• Clean up with soap and water. • If Flood Solid Color Stain is allowed to dry on tools, remove with paint remover. • Danger: Rags, steel wool or waste soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded.
