CWF®-UV5 OIL are translucent premium oil finishes available in a wide variety of ready-made wood tones as well as an incredibly versatile Clear Toner Base that can be tinted and custom-matched to most any tone while maintaining the natural look of wood. CWF®-UV5 Oil is fortified with Penetrol® for superior penetration and protection.

Where To Use
• Ideal for use on: wood decks, siding, fences, shakes and shingles, docks and outdoor wood furniture and play equipment.

Preparation
• Proper surface preparation is essential for optimum product performance.
• Surfaces to be finished must be thoroughly clean, dry and free of dirt, mildew and other contamination. Clean with Flood® Wood Cleaner.
• Remove mildew with a solution of one part household bleach to four parts of water.
• Completely remove any stain, paint, varnish or sealer to expose bare wood with Flood® Wood Stripper per product label directions.
• Allow 2-3 days of dry time after cleaning.
• For new wood, perform a water test by sprinkling water in random areas to determine absorbency. New wood must be porous enough to accept a penetrating oil finish. If water is absorbed rapidly, wood is ready for application of finish. If not, wait a few weeks and test again.

Application
• Cover everything you do not wish to coat, including plants and shrubs.
• Apply between 50° and 80° F. Do not apply in hot sunlight.
• Do not apply if cold, wet weather is expected within 48 hours.
• Mix thoroughly before and periodically during application.
• Apply with a natural bristle brush, roller, stain brush/pad, garden sprayer or airless sprayer; spray equipment .011-.015 fluid tip, 700-800 psi or lowest pressure to achieve a full, wet spray.
• Apply one coat of CWF®-UV5 OIL finish. Allow finish to penetrate then apply a second coat while first coat is still wet.
• Allow the second coat to penetrate for 10-15 minutes then wipe up any finish that has not penetrated to even out appearance and to avoid shiny spots.
• If finish is spray applied, always backbrush or backroll material to improve penetration and uniformity of coverage.

Dry Time
• From 24 to 48 hours, depending on temperature and humidity.

Clean Up
• Clean up with mineral spirits.
• If CWF-UV5 Oil is allowed to dry, it can be removed with paint remover.
• Transfer leftover CWF®-UV5 OIL into a smaller metal or glass container to prevent gelling.
• Danger: rags, steel wool or waste soaked with this product may spontaneously catch fire if improperly discarded. Immediately after use, place rags, steel wool or waste in a sealed, water-filled metal container.
