2. BEFORE APPLICATION -
Before starting your project, please read the complete label and safety precautions.
GOOD APPLICATION PRACTICES:
• Cover everything you do not wish to clean
• Apply between 50°F and 80°F
• Do not apply in hot, direct sunlight
• Do not apply if cold or wet weather is expected within 48 hours
• Do not use a wire brush
GETTING READY:
1. Remove all furniture, flower pots, grills, etc. from the deck.
2. Remove any objects (pieces of glass, nails, rocks, etc) from between boards with the five-in-one tool.
(photos a and b)
3. Inspect the deck for structural damage and loose fasteners. Replace any loose nails, screws. Tighten any loose bolts or spindles. Check nail heads to make sure they are level with the wood surface.

4. Inspect the areas to be cleaned for any outlets, light fixtures, cable or telephone jacks or anything that might be damaged by water. Cover them.
5. Remove dirt and loose debris from the deck by sweeping using a leaf blower or a broom.

6. Wet everything down that you do not want to have the cleaner applied to (including all plants and shrubs), using fresh water from a garden hose. This will dilute any cleaner that might land in any of those areas. Also protect plants or shrubs by covering with clear plastic to prevent any damage by pressure washer or cleaners. Clear plastic tends to work best because it doesn’t allow as much heat to build up.
7. Remove mildew with a solution of one part household bleach to four parts water. Do not use bleach full strength. Rinse thoroughly. If mildew stains remain after cleaning, remove with a solution of bleach and water mixed 50/50. Allow solution to remain on the surface for 10-15 minutes. Rinse thoroughly. Bleach strength should be 5% - 8% Sodium Hypochlorite. Do not mix chlorine bleach and Dekswood together.
8. Wear chemical resistant gloves, safety goggles and protective clothing.
