Flood Penetrol:
How to Use
Where to Use
  • Flood Penetrol® is for exterior use only
  • Add to oil-based paints to eliminate brush marks in paint as well as roller marks
  • Add to oil-based paints for coating exterior trim, molding, doors, furniture, plywood or metal
  • Add to oil-based primers for coating exterior bare wood or metal
  • Use to condition bare and rusted metal: use Flood Penetrol® on steel, garden tools, outdoor furniture, brass, aluminum and chrome
  • Use to condition fiberglass: use on fiberglass surfaces, boats
  • NOTE: Do not add to acrylic, water-based or epoxy coatings
Application
Add Penetrol to oil-based paint or primers:
  1. Stir and mix oil-based paint thoroughly.
  2. Always mix a small amount of Flood Penetrol® additive to paint that you are using to determine compatibility.
  3. As paint begins to set up too fast or "drag," stir in Flood Penetrol®. Begin with approximately 1 pint (16 oz.) Penetrol per gallon of paint.
  4. If paint is thick, or in extreme temperatures, you can increase the quantity of Flood Penetrol® additive to paint (up to 2.5 pints per gallon of paint).
Conditioning bare or rusted metal:
  1. Remove loose rust, excess dirt, oil and grease.
  2. Be sure surface is dry.
  3. Saturate the metal with Flood Penetrol®.
  4. Allow 12-24 hours for drying.
  5. NOTE: For brass, copper, aluminum and chrome, scrub surface with fine steel wool soaked in Penetrol and polish with a clean cloth.
Conditioning fiberglass:
  1. Clean the surface to be conditioned.
  2. Saturate a rag with Flood Penetrol®, and wipe it on fiberglass surface.
  3. Buff surface with a clean, soft cloth within 3-5 minutes.

Flood Floetrol:
How to Use

    • To create faux finishing effects: Add up to 32 oz. (1 quart) per gallon of paint.
